I have the honour to report that, in
the case of Tang Chu who was sentenced to death
for murder, I have commuted the sentence to
imprisonment for life.
2.
The matter was considered by my
Executive Council which advised that the clemency
of the Crown should be exercised in this case.
The advice was accepted by me.
3.
A copy of the Chief Justice's letter,
together with his notes of evidence during the
trial, is enclosed.
